BGIS: How long have you been in Singapore?
J: 2 and a half years. I moved from Sydney.
BGIS: What’s been your favourite holiday spot so far?
J: Bangkok. It’s big city, great food, hustle and bustle but just an hour away from pristine beaches.
BGIS: What advice would you give someone moving here?
J: Lifestyle is great here. Do your maths first, it’s very expensive. Rent is high and so is healthy food.
BGIS: What’s the best thing about living here?
J: Everything’s geared for efficiency and it’s very safe.
BGIS: And the worst?
J: It’s so hot outside but winter inside! The temperatures do get to me.
We ate at Symmetry in Bugis. I found their starters quite mediocre – light on the filling and the pastry quite heavy handed. More potato than protein! Our mains were good. Jasmeet and I had a peppery eggy stew, it was quite unusual and my husband stuck with a more familiar smoked salmon and eggs on toast which he was very happy with.
Hope you enjoyed!
