I’m so mad that I’m missing out on Fashion Week! But I’m away throughout all of it so I have a good reason. I’ve been so ready to sink my teeth into Singapore’s best designers. I’m not a fashion obsessive but I do think that beautifully tailored clothes prepare you for your best self. They have their place.
So in the name of education, here’s a little intro to 3 of the Asian designers showcasing their work this year (sandwiched between Diane Von Fostenburg and Victoria Beckham)
First up is ELOHIM by Sabrina Goh, the only Sporean designer I really know. She’ll be showcasing her Fall/Winter 2015 and Cruise 2015/16 collections.
Here are a couple styles from her Spring/Summer 2015 Elohim range. Very cool.
She also has a less expensive range called Light by Sabrina Goh. They’re flowy and look very comfortable:
Ong Shunmugan’s last collection, ‘Whenever I fall at your feet’ was inspired by Singapore’s national monuments and buildings. I love her creativity, and her designs remind me of the sexy, youthful dresses you see in Lagos.
One show Im especially disappointed about missing is the Woo/Fiziwoo and and Zalia collections by Zalora, Asia’s version of Asos. Zalia is the gorgeous red carpet collection and Woo/Fiziwoo a high fashion aesthetic of sharp silohuettes and soft fabrics.
Check out Zalia:
And the only Woo/Fiziwoo designs I could get my hands on:
Trust me, SFW 2016 WILL be featured on BGIS! I will NEVER miss out again.
Someone needs to drop some small change in my pocket o!
