Raid on London’s high street

For once I planned and executed my raid well. I love London’s high street, it really is the best and I’m about to show you why.

Disclaimer: I’m really not a shopaholic! This is me stocking up bcos I’m tired of tiny Spore clothes with the waistlines only reaching my chest. So I meant business in London. It was either go hard or go home.

I got a range of stuff: Topshop, Primark, Reiss, Warehouse etc because I needed cheapie stuff that I didn’t mind washing a lot, as well as stuff that made me feel vaguely trendy. I used to be a real retail snob but needs must.

Enjoy.

Primark dress and green H+M belt. Yes, I'm trying to imitate a pirate.

It might seem strange wearing tights in Singapore but they’re actually perfect for airconditioned rooms.

For Singaporeans unfamiliar to Primark, the dresses in this post are about $30 but can be even less in the sale.

Now for my favourite purchase…which I mistakenly picked up, wait for it, in a size 16!!! Need suggestions for a good Spore tailor pls.

The truth is that I NEVER wear heels in Spore which surprises even me because even though we dont drive here, taxis are really cheap. But I feel like such a giant in heels and you can get into most places with nice flats so I’ve become really lazy.

I feel a teeny bit bad going on re London shopping when I did in fact find a lovely blazer from Mango here, which has now become my new travelling jacket. It’s the only thing i’ve gotten in this year’s Great Singapore sale (still waiting to experience the greatness) and it reminds me of a Ferragamo blazer my mother used to fly with.

Big thanks to my cameraman hubby for painfully tearing himself away from celebrating Arsenals 3-1 victory over Man city to take pictures of my dress up.

So this will be my last shopping post for a while. There are just so many more interesting things to write about and so much happening in the world.

Hope you all had a good rest, look out for next week’s post.

Xoxo

  1. Just catching up on your posts..I love the size 16 dress, where is it from? You look so good in all the pictures!
And I have the exact same blue & white stripey maxi skirt from primark. I style it with a white vest or top, and a bold necklace.
